This class provides a basic knowledge, functionality, and warranty overview of the ACH580 VFD for a basic Start Up. Key ACH580 improvements over ACH550 will be covered as well as control wiring, manual and automatic back-up, Bluetooth capability, drive composer software, etc.

Requirements: Each student is required to bring a laptop to class with Windows 10 or 11 operating systems.

This Low GWP Refrigerant Program covers refrigerant safety, into to low GWP refrigerants, refrigerant properties and characteristics, the refrigeration cycle, working with refrigerant blends, proper installation and service guidelines, flammable refrigerant considerations, and explanation of the associated codes and standards for A2L refrigerants.

Certification: The Low GWP Refrigerant Safety – A2L Refrigerants examination validates that a person possesses the knowledge to safely work with low GWP refrigerants and helps reduce liability. The 50-question, closed-book exam covers the following competencies:  general flammable refrigerant safety knowledge, core ACR knowledge, flammable system service safety, flammable system installation safety, and flammable refrigerant transportation and handling safety.

A laptop with standard USB port is highly suggested for utilizing the practice exam option.

This is a 3-Day class, June 9 – 11, covering the following…

AAON Controls Overview, Prism Software, Module Configuration, VCCX2 Setpoints, Communication Devices, etc., as well as startup and commissioning of the refrigerant system, sequences of operation, scroll compressor overview, correct refrigerant charging method, controls overview and identification of various components, microchannel coils and effect on the system operation/charge, types of heat and startup, split system piping requirements and limitations, types of compressors and their effects on the refrigerant system.

Requirements: Each student is required to bring a laptop to class with Windows 10 or 11 operating systems.
